Throwback Sunday - Wörlitzer Park

Hello readers,

we visited the Wörlitzer garden earlier this year, it was around easter.The garden is an important part of the "Dessau-Wörlitzer Gartenreich", which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It was created under the reign of Prince Leopold III. Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau in the second half of the 18th century. We just took a walk in one part of the garden. There is a lot to explore and it's worth more than one visit.

Attention: I made a lot of photos, that means this blog post is very picture-heavy!

There are several statues spread over the park and there are various islands that can be reached by ferries and boats.

Beautiful cherry blossoms everywhere! It's very worthwhile to go there in the spring. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I was super close to this swan. So close I could have stroked it. But I didn't touched it, I only took thousands of photos.

There were a lot of peacocks in Schochs Garden. And beautiful visual axes. The garden is perfectly planned. All visual axes are not only nice to look at they also make wonderful motives for pictures.

The Gothic House was built from 1773 after the plans of Erdmannsdorff and Planning Director Georg Christoph Ezekiel. The specialty of this building are its two different facades. This front is the front of a Venetian church.
Bottom Left: the other side follows the style of the Tudor Gothic. The fountain on the bottom right is in the courtyard of the building.

 

And all around the building, particularly on the Tudor Gothic side, were peacocks. This one peahen was very photogenic. I've tons of nice pictures of her. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Nice flowers and a pretty path.
The "Romantische Partie" is a part of the garden that has labyrinthine grottos and rock tunnels.

That was my favorite visual axis: the Venus Temple from the perspective of a grotto.

 

Look at that sky! I loved the light in the late afternoon. The Venus Temple looked amazing.

 

As we walked back to the car, I photographed another view of the Gothic House and a rapeseed field and the field with cherry trees. The yellow field, the blue sky and the flowers looked great together.

 

I hope you like this little look into the Wörlitzer gardens. It's really just a glimpse, there is more to see there. If you ever come near Dessau: It's really worth a visit.

Pink roses and purple Dreams

Hello readers!

Today I finally wrote my entry for the Pentecost weekend. That was in the beginning of June and that means it's almost two months ago. So this entry comes late, but better late than never.

The Wave Gotik Treffen (WGT) is always around that time in Leipzig and there is also a picnic. A group of Lolitas planned a meet at this picnic. It's actually called 'Victorian Picnic', but since the WGT is for all kinds of Gothic related fashions, even our meet fits in the event.

I decided to wear APs Romantic Rose Letter to this occasion. The dress is very over the top and has something historicizing with a rococo touch. It's really nice to wear and the fabric falls in a nice, soft way. I customized a hat especially for this outfit. I felt quite comfortable, despite - as so often before - my eyes were in a bad shape that day.
The dress in all its beauty has one thing that really bothers me. It is difficult due to its cut to combine different outfits with it. This is a bad thing for me and also kind of a reason to sell it. Actually, I've always the goal to put as many different outfits with a dress together as possible. Now I don't know if the one-sidedness of the dress isn't not too limiting.

We took a few pictures before we went to the picnic. Unfortunately we arrived a bit late. The pictures look a little like hat advertising. Schnatterinchen did a great job and kept the hat from every conceivable angle.

We arrived late but some of the others were still there. It was nice to meet other Lolitas again.

It was a nice day all in all. Even if some of the photographers were quite rude. It would be better without them buzzing around. To meet people in pretty outfits and to spend time together is nice and the reason why I love meetings. but some photographers don't seem to understand that you do not wear pretty things for them. Oh well, that's the problem with the public places.

Summer picnic meet-up 2014

Hello readers!

Long time no see. Time near as always, that means weeks after the event, I decide to write something about a Lolita meet that we had here. It was a small picnic in the park.We were a small circle, but it was nice. And we had, as so often, too much food.
It was quite warm that day, so it wasn't able for me to wear my outfit as planned. But I really want to wear this dress, because I need space in my wardrobe and this JSK was one of the things I planned to sell.

I wore the Happy Ice Cream JSK by Angelic Pretty which is super voluminous and space occupying.

This was the outfit that I planned to wear. Well not exactly like this. Actually with a white blouse, but that one was unfortunately in the washer. The fur collar was way too warm, so I don't wore it. But because of that the balance of the outfit was not right anymore.

We took some pictures. The sun was a little bit difficult, but I like how some of the pictures came out. These are just a few photos, there are more, but I don't upload them here.

I rarely take selfies, but I kind of like that one. Also my makeup was quite nice that day. But I still don't like close-ups.
